Submitting to search engines
March 20, 2011So you have your web site now but need to get it onto major search engines. Well follow these simple tips. It really only takes a few minutes! The major search engines are able to index your site without even submitting your URL but to be sure we’d suggest you follow the tutorial below.
Since Google is the most popular search engine, we’ll start here.
1) Visit the following URL http://www.google.co.uk/addurl/
Here you will find a form for the user to fill out. It is straight forward and only takes a few seconds.
2) Enter the following information. URL: (This being your web site address, e.g. http://www.easywebuk.co.uk)
Remember to included the http:// prefix in the URL
3) Comments: This is only optional, it is used to help distinguish hand-submitted URLS from automatically submitted URLs.
4) Now input required being the entering of the security word as shown.
5) Finally just select “Add URL” and you are complete. Then all you have to do is sit and wait for Google to index your web site.
Yahoo
Yahoo Search engine has a similar operation for submitting your web site URL.
1)Visit the following URL http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/submit
2) Select Submit a Website or Webpage
3) Enter the URL for the website or webpage you would like to submit. Remember to included the http:// prefix in the URL
4) Select submit URL
5) Log into your Yahoo Account if you have one or alternative register for a free account . Then all you have to do is sit and wait for Yahoo to index your web site.
Bing
Bing Search engine has a similar operation for submitting your web site URL.
1) Visit the following URL http://www.bing.com/webmaster/SubmitSitePage.aspx
2)In the box shown, type the characters that you see in the picture. This helps ensure that a person, not an automated program, is submitting the URL.
3) Type the URL of your homepage. Remember to included the http:// prefix in the URL
4) Select submit URL. Then all you have to do is sit and wait for Bing to index your web site.
